About Lavanya Prasad

I am an electrical engineer turned professional storyteller and I truly believe I make better and long lasting connections using stories rather than electrical wires.
As a child, I found the answer to all my curious questions in stories. This led me to become a teacher 15 years ago, using stories to teach and communicate. I became a professional storyteller in 2011 and named my business "Talescope" in 2014. As a trained dancer and singer, I incorporate music, dance, and theater in my stories. I also incorporate traditional Indian storytelling art forms ( like Harikatha, Villu Paatu, Theru Koothu etc) with a contemporary twist to educate the younger generation about our rich heritage. Today, my unique storytelling niche has given me opportunities worldwide. When not telling stories, I research and present papers on Indian folk art forms or simply listen to a lovely story!

Talescope's Story

Like someone rightly said, The shortest distance between any two people is a story and at Talescope we aim to make those distances shorter. We don’t just give you a story, but we give you an experience as you live the story with us.

Talescope is a trademark that uses stories to provide better vision. A concept that started off as a simple way to bring back the good old feeling of connecting to one another by “ listening” to someone tell a story, bloomed organically into a beautiful initiative that connects people across all ages and cultures and has now grown into a global brand. Talescope has performed at international storytelling festivals, interacted with students across the globe, and been recognized by various news outlets. Schools, colleges, corporations, and NGOs have invited Talescope to train their employees and incorporate storytelling into their work. Contact us to learn more.
