Ramayana for Andhra Mahila Sabha members on account of Shri Rama Navami

It was indeed a great privilege to do the “ Kishkinda Kanda” of Ramayana in Villu Paatu style of storytelling that has the elements of music, theatre and grammar in it. The story told was the “Origin of VilluPaatu – a Folklore from the Kishinda Kanda of Ramayana”. Now this is what you call a blessing!

 

Kukdukoo Fest – India’s biggest Children’s festival

It was an honour to be invited to perform for the children and parents of Bengaluru for the Kukdukoo children’s fest. The segment that I did was exploring the amazing folktales from India. It was a unique experience to enthrall the urban population of Bengaluru and artists from across the world to the rustic folktales and tunes of our very own land.

 

Tantrums to Triumphs – A podcast interview for Kydzadda

It was an honour to be invited as the first guest speaker for a unique podcast that calls experts in the fields related to children by Kydzadda. The podcast gives you insights into the art of using stories to tackle behavioural issues in children. Here is the link to the same.

Raaga Rasam – Nostalgia Galore through the tales and music from Indian Cinema

It was a splendid evening of laughter, happy singing and travelling back to nostalgic moments of one’s happy days through movie music and stories associated with them. Stories of struggles, the failure and the wins, exist in every field. The tales of grit and determination behind some amazing music that we all listen to, today was very well received by the audience.

 

Where there is a “Villu” there is a way – Tamil Puthaandu Celebrations

To tell stories in Tamil, in the special Oral storytelling tradition from Tamilnadu, as a part of the Tamil newyear celebrations in AttaGalatta was fun!. To have one of the senior most persons in the theatre field Mr.Vijay Padaki in the audience appreciating the form and the style of telling was indeed a blessing! Grateful.

 

It’s Summer Time – Summer Camp on Lifeskills for Kids

Talescope was invited to do “ Teaching Life skills through stories for a group of 30 children in a summer camp organized at the “Auden Public School”. Best learning happens when you are involved deeply in the process and we did it the story way!

 

Storytelling meetup for Adults – Bangalore Storytelling Society

As a core team member of Bangalore Storytelling society, I have had the privilege to host, tell, listen and share in the storytelling meet up for adults month over month since 2014. For the last eleven years I have been a witness to how stories create meaningful communities, become a tool to connect, communicate and help bring positive changes in society. April ended on a high note of stories shared amidst a cozy space in Bangalore.
