August 2 : Celebrating Global Tiger Day in partnership with WWF India and Forum

What an evening it was to celebrate Tigers through stories. What excited me more was how the people of Bengaluru are well informed about Tigers. Did you know since when the Tiger became the national animal of India. Well from facts like these, to quizzes and a conservation story as to what nature always tries to tell us to take an oath to be a responsible human, the people of Bengaluru, amazed me! Sometimes it just takes a story to move hearts!
August 5 : The soundtrack of childhood – Why music matters?

August 5th : Wisdom from the word – Proverbs and Stories – Storytelling with Senior citizens

The proverbs we heard as children to the proverbs that have instilled in us the values we carry, Talescope’s “Roots project with seniors” explored proverbs from the perspectives of our senior friends. A wisdom filled session both for the participants and the facilitator.
August 7th and 8th : Learning through Storytelling – A 2 days intensive story workshops with the students and teachers of CS Academy , Erode.

Treating over 1000 students for the IB and CBSC streams and teachers to stories, exploring communication, voice, public speaking and values through folktales, authored tales and interactive games was a huge hit. An invitation to bring this to their schools in the other cities was the testimony to the work Talecope did there. Thanks to the school management that believes in the power of storytelling.
August 9th : Talescope in Erode Puthaga Thiruvizha

A surprise invitation for a book release event in “Erode Puthaga Thiruvizha” and releasing a book by Thiru. Udaya Shankar, a renowned Tamil Children’s author was a true honour.
August 10 : Talescope in Book Brahma Lit fest

Did you know of a unique literature festival that celebrates all south Indian literature? Welcome to Book Brahma Lit fest! And what an honour for Talescope to be invited there to share with the literature lovers of this cosmopolitan city, our signature workshop “ Mann Vaasanai” – Celebrating our land through stories and songs. A bilingual session that explored the roots of this land through stories.
August 12 : Storytelling and Connections – For Master of Arts and Media Communication Students ( Christ University – Main Campus)

Talescope was invited for a guest lecture on “ Storytelling and connections” to address the post graduate students. Fun learning, playful introspection, learning to craft thoughtful narratives and going back with a spark to explore more – This is the workshop gist for you. August 13 : Storytelling with Cambridge Juniors

I love schools that take books, literature and stories seriously. It shows in the way children think, interact and communicate. It was a fun morning of interaction wit students on books, stories and literature for Tale’scope at the Cambridge Juniors’ Lit fest. The happy faces says it all!
August 14 : Stories of Unsung Heroes and Warriors – An Independence day special at NGMA

A Bangalore Storytelling society’s initiative in partnership with NGMA, I was glad to bring the story of the warrior queen, “ Velu Nachiyar”, the one who fought the British and won over them too!
August 17 : In the Moonlight of Stories – Raksha Bandhan Stories for Adults

As the moon rose in the sky on the day of Raksha Bandhan, it was a wonderful, serene experience to be invited to share a story about “ Brother- sister “ bonding in an online platform “ In the Moonlight of Stories” for an adult audience.
August 28th : Storytelling for troubled times – Never not broken

It was an honour and a privilege to be invited as a special guest in the “ Sudden story” series envisioned by Storyteller Laura Simms, USA, to share the story and the song of “ Akilandeshwari – the Never not broken Goddess” of Thiruanaikaval, Temple in Trichy.
A true joyous moment to take stories from India to the audience in the United states of America.
